Lien Khuong International Airport, which serves the tourist city of Da Lat in the Central Highlands region, will close for six months for runway and taxiway upgrades, with an investment of over VND1.05 trillion (US$40.2 million).

The runway 25R/07L of Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport and the runway 1B of Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport were put into use again after upgrading on January 10 afternoon.

Repairs of Tan Son Nhat International Airport’s 25R/07L runway, which is three kilometres long and 46 metres wide, has finished after nearly six months, according to the Cuu Long Corporation for Investment, Development and Project Management of Infrastructure.

Construction of the proposed Long Thanh international airport in the southern province of Dong Nai is expected to start next month as promised by the State-owned Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), the airport’s main developer.
