According to Thach Ngoc Hung, Director of Vietnam Landtours Co., Ltd., the company served around 1,000 Cambodian tourists from May 18 to 20. During their three-day stay, visitors enjoyed entertainment activities on Hon Thom island, toured the Safari Park, visited the local night market and a pearl farm, and stayed in four-star hotels in Duong Dong, occupying some 450 rooms.

Tran Anh Tai, a representative of Thuy Tien Restaurant in Phu Quoc, said the group expressed high satisfaction with their experience, particularly with the seafood and local cuisine. The restaurant is also scheduled to welcome another group of 1,000 Cambodian tourists on May 23.

Vietnam Landtours noted that last year, many Cambodian companies also brought large groups to Phu Quoc, often traveling by road through the Ha Tien border gate. This tourist segment is considered a promising driver of future growth for the island’s tourism sector.

Thanks to its scenic beaches, vibrant entertainment offerings, and convenient access, Phu Quoc has become an increasingly popular destination for Cambodian travelers. MICE groups, often comprising thousands of visitors, typically opt for four-star or higher-end accommodations, helping boost hotel and restaurant occupancy, especially during the low season.

In the first four months of 2025, Phu Quoc welcomed more than 2.8 million visitors, up 25.9% year-on-year. Of these, over 622,000 were international arrivals, marking a 71.2% increase. Total tourism revenue reached VND14.2 trillion, a year-on-year rise of 79.1%.
