VOV.VN - Southern Vinh Long province on February 6 held a memorial and burial ceremony for the remains of 36 fallen soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence and freedom and were recently located and recovered.

A memorial and burial ceremony was held on December 31 at Tong Khao Martyrs’ Cemetery in Thanh Nua commune, the northern province of Dien Bien, for the remains of 10 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who laid down their lives in Laos during wartime.

A grand requiem took place at Phat Tich Pagoda in the Lao capital of Vientiane on the evening of March 6 to honour the fallen soldiers and victims from both Vietnam and Laos, including the 64 Vietnamese soldiers who perished in the 1988 Gac Ma battle in Vietnam's Truong Sa (Spratly).
