Dak Lak holds burial ceremony for fallen soldiers repatriated from Cambodia
A memorial and burial ceremony was held on May 28 afternoon at the Dak Lak provincial martyrs’ cemetery for the remains of 23 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who laid down their lives in Cambodia during the war.

The ceremony was organised by the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee. The remains were recovered during the 2024–2025 dry season by Team K51 of the Dak Lak Provincial Military Command.
In a solemn atmosphere, provincial leaders, delegates, and local residents offered incense and observed a moment of silence to pay tribute to the fallen heroes.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Truong Cong Thai expressed deep gratitude to the martyrs, acknowledging their courageous sacrifices for national independence, peace, and the fulfilment of noble international duties.
He noted that over more than six months, despite harsh weather, officers and soldiers of Team K51 had successfully gathered information, conducted search, and repatriated the 23 sets of remains from Mondulkiri province in Cambodia. All the remains were unidentified.
Since 2000, Dak Lak has repatriated and reburied a total of 769 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Cambodia during various periods of war.
