Minister-President of Germany’s State of Hessen Boris Rhein affirmed the locality’s readiness to support Vietnam in developing international finance centres and share its experience in financial market management, while meeting with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh on March 25.

Vietnam attaches great importance to its strategic partnership with Germany, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan said while receiving Minister-President of State of Hessen of Germany Boris Rhein, who is on a working visit to the Southeast Asian country.

The Vietnamese - German University (VGU) will become a "lighthouse" project in the relationship between the two countries and a bright spot in Vietnam’s tertiary education system in the coming time, said Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.

The World University Service (WUS) and authorities of Hessen state of Germany will provide scholarships worth EUR205,000 (US$230,625) to students of the Vietnamese-German University (VGU) who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
