Conference aims to boost appeal of Vietnamese cities
VOV.VN - The 2025 regional conference of the Tourism Promotion Organization for Global Cities (TPO) took place on March 28 in Hanoi, focusing on strategies to develop creative tourism products and enhance the competitiveness of TPO member cities, including those in Vietnam.

The event provided an opportunity for Hanoi and other TPO member cities to strengthen cooperation, exchanges, and tourism as a contribution to elevating the global image of Vietnamese destinations.
TPO Secretary-General Kang Da-eun highlighted the conference’s role in tightening ties between TPO member cities and Vietnam’s tourism sector. She emphasized that members should fully leverage the TPO’s cooperative framework, particularly as the organization plays a pivotal role in accelerating global tourism, connecting cities, and fostering a sustainable, innovative, and dynamic sector.
Dang Huong Giang, director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, expressed hope that the TPO Secretariat will launch more practical activities to enhance linkages between the Republic of Korea (RoK) and Vietnamese cities.

In recent years, Hanoi has focused on promoting tourism in key markets, with the RoK being one of the most promising. The capital's tourism offerings, including golf tourism, resort tourism, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism, as well as cultural and historical tourism, align well with the preferences of Korean visitors, she noted.
Headquartered in Busan, RoK, the TPO is a major tourism organization dedicated to promoting prosperity among its members through intercity collaboration in the tourism sector.
Vietnam currently has eight localities participating in the TPO, namely Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Bac Ninh, Da Lat, Da Nang, Hai Phong, Long An, and Vung Tau.
