Striker Nguyen Xuan Son receives warm welcome from Brazilian President
VOV.VN - Vietnamese striker Nguyen Xuan Son was warmly welcomed by President Luong Cuong and Brazilian President Lula da Silva at a ceremony on March 28, where a cooperation agreement between the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Brazilian Football Confederation was officially handed over.
The agreement was among several key documents exchanged at the event. Representing Vietnamese football, Xuan Son joined VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan in attending the ceremony.
During a friendly exchange, President Lula expressed his delight and took a commemorative photo with Xuan Son, a standout player for the Vietnamese national team.
Born in Brazil, Xuan Son obtained Vietnamese citizenship in late 2024 and played a pivotal role in Vietnam’s ASEAN Cup triumph. His remarkable performances, including seven goals, earned him both the Top Scorer and Best Player awards of the tournament.
Currently, Xuan Son is recovering from a fractured fibula and tibia sustained in the second leg of the ASEAN Cup final. He is expected to return to action in September.
