Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung was granted a third-class Itsala (Freefom) Order of Laos on July 29 for his contributions to enhancing great friendship, special solidary and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries during nearly eight years working as ambassador in the neigbouring country.

The Vietnam - Laos Trade Fair 2024 (VIETLAO EXPO), the largest annual trade promotion event co-hosted by the two countries’ Ministries of Industry and Trade, is being held in Vientiane from July 25 to 29.

Vietnamese airline Vietjet and the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Laos on July 11 announced an agreement to boost air transport connectivity between Vietnam and Laos.

VOV.VN - Vietnam and Laos will strive to raise economic cooperation to new heights commensurate with their fine political relations; increase the exchange of experience in macroeconomic management and anti-corruption; and upgrade international border gates and roads connecting the two countries.

The state visits to Laos and Cambodia by President To Lam from July 11-13 are expected to help promote solidarity and open up more trade cooperation opportunities between Vietnam and the two neighbouring countries.

Vietnam's search teams located and collected the remains of 184 martyrs in Laos in the 2023-2024 dry season, with nine identified by name and hometown, heard a meeting between special task forces of the Vietnamese and Lao governments held in Ho Chi Minh City on June 24.
