The Ministry of Transport has proposed a significant overhaul of Vietnam's railway management system, as outlined in the draft Revised Railway Law.

Representatives from the Departments of Transport of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City joined other delegates representing authorities, and transport and digital development sectors from 28 cities around the world in the third International Transport Conference in Moscow on August 22 – 23.

The first two first urban railway lines in Hanoi have attracted a large number of passengers, helping modernise the public transportation network and ease traffic congestion, which is an important prerequisite for the city to strongly develop this means of transport in the coming time.
