Development master plan for Vinh International Airport approved
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Transport has officially approved a master plan for Vinh International Airport in central Vietnam for 2021-2030, with a vision toward 2050.

Under the master plan, Vinh International Airport, located in Nghe An province, will continue to serve both civilian and military purposes. It will have the designed capacity of handling 8 million passengers/year and 25,000 tonnes of cargo/year till 2030.
Notably, Terminal T1 will expand to accommodate 5 million passengers/year. A new Terminal T2 between the two runways will be constructed with a capacity of 3 million passengers/year.
With the vision to 2050, the airport is expected to handle 14 million passengers/year and 35,000 tonnes of cargo/year. Terminal T2 will expand to accommodate 9 million passengers/year.
The total land area allocated for the airport from 2021 to 2050 is approximately 543.53 hectares, including land managed by civil aviation, the military, and shared-use areas. An additional 96.5 hectares has been proposed for expansion.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has been tasked with finalizing the planning documents and coordinating with Nghe An authorities to implement the master plan. Nghe An will integrate the airport’s development into local planning and secure land for future expansion.
