VOV.VN - Toyo Ink Group Berhad, Song Hau 2 Power Company Limited and Export-Import Bank of Malaysia (Eximbank Malaysia) have signed a credit contract worth US$980 million for Song Hau 2 Thermal Power Plant Project.

The Van Phong 1 BOT Thermal Power Plant in the Van Phong Economic Zone of the south-central province of Khanh Hoa was inaugurated on March 13, supplying an additional 8.5 billion kWh per year, accounting for approximately 3% of the total electricity output nationwide.

The PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power) has set a target to generate nearly 7.84 billion kWh of electricity, earning a revenue of over VND11.6 trillion (US$489.7 million) in the second half of 2023.

The Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) will supply about 18.7 million tonnes of coal to thermal power plants in the second half of this year, according to General Director Dang Thanh Hai.

As many as 7 million kWh of electricity will be added to the national grid each day once the repair of the first turbine of the Nghi Son 1 Thermal Power Plant is completed on June 13, easing the power use pressure on the north.

Singapore is hoped to invest in and partner with the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho in sectors that the latter boasts strength in, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Le Quang Manh said at a working session with representatives of the Consulate-General of Singapore in HCM City on January 6.
