Non Nuoc Cao Bang Global Geopark honoured at UNESCO conference in Chile

VOV.VN - Vietnam’s Non Nuoc Cao Bang Global Geopark was one of five geoparks worldwide to receive the Global Geoparks Network (GGN) Best Practices Awards at the 11th International Conference on UNESCO Global Geoparks 2025 which is getting underway in Chile from September 5 - 15.

At the conference, representatives from Non Nuoc Cao Bang shared their experiences in developing and managing the geopark and presented two papers on preserving minority languages and traditional craft villages linked to sustainable tourism development, attracting significant international attention.

Cao Bang also showcased a cultural space highlighting the region’s outstanding geological, cultural, historical, and natural heritage, along with its geopark tourism routes, information materials, and traditional handicrafts. This exhibition not only promoted Cao Bang’s unique identity internationally but also created opportunities for cooperation and exchange of best practices in managing and operating UNESCO-standard geoparks.

Over the years, Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark has become a popular destination, contributing to promoting Vietnam’s image and people to the global community. This award reaffirms the geopark’s position and prestige within the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network and serves as a motivation for Cao Bang to continue leveraging its model, linking heritage conservation with sustainable socio-economic development.
