VOV.VN - Party General Secretary and President To Lam of Vietnam attended the opening session of the 19th Francophonie Summit held at Villers-Cotterêts castle, France, on October 4 afternoon (local time).

Capitalising on the great potential for economic cooperation with countries of the Francophone community is one of the top Francophone cooperation priorities of Vietnam in the years to come, according to Party General Secretary and State President To Lam.

Vietjet and Castlelake, a global alternative investment manager specialising in asset-based investing with nearly 20 years of experience in aircraft investing, leasing and servicing, on October 3 exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to finance four aircraft valued at US$560 million.

The Francophonie space, boasting a population of more than 1.2 billion people and accounting for 16% of the global GDP and 20% of the global trade, has been a potential land for economic and investment cooperation and trade exchange, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and State President To Lam said on October 4.

Party General Secretary and State President To Lam’s official visit to France from October 6-7 aims to demonstrate the high evaluation of the Vietnamese Party and State for the Vietnam-France strategic partnership and to further deepen the bilateral relationship.

The official visit to France by Party General Secretary and State President To Lam and his attendance at the 19th Francophonie Summit are expected to give a boost to the bilateral economic, trade, and investment ties.

Party General Secretary and State President To Lam received Honourary Consul of Vietnam in Ireland Patrick McKillen in Dublin on October 3 (local time), within the framework of his state visit to the European country.

Vietnam and Ireland have issued a 17-point joint statement on the strengthening of bilateral partnership, on the occasion of Party General Secretary and State President To Lam’s state visit to the European country from October 1-3.
