Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s presence at the 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Tianjin creates an important foundation for expanding the country’s relations with global economies, according to a researcher on Vietnam.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with representatives of the Vietnamese community in China on the evening of June 25 in Tianjin, during his working visit to China and attendance at the 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will attend the 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions, a flagship event of the World Economic Forum (WEF) and pay a working trip to Tianjin, China, from June 24-27 at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presided over a national online conference on June 22 to review the national target programmes on building new-style rural areas and sustainable poverty reduction.

Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long attended the plenary session of the 28th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 28) in Russia on June 20 and had a range of bilateral activities on the sidelines of the event.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh underscored the need for a transparent and practical approach to building Vietnam’s legal system, urging clarity in roles, tasks, timelines, outcomes, responsibilities and authority, while chairing a monthly government meeting on law-building in Hanoi on June 21.

Vietnam consistently supports the two-state solution, including the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine based on pre-1967 borders, in accordance with international law and relevant United Nations (UN) resolutions, said Minister Counselor Nguyen Hoang Nguyen.
