The domestic tourism sector needs data centres, hosted by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) to accelerate digital transformation of the industry, said Nguyen Quyet Tam, a member of Vietnam Software & IT Services (VINASA) and CEO of VietISO.

Vietnam is regarded as an outstanding investment destination for high-value manufacturing with production capacity satisfying international investors, said Christopher J. Marriott, CEO of Savills Southeast Asia.

The Tan Thuan CMC Data Centre, considered the most modern and safest data centre and cloud computing infrastructure facility in Vietnam, was officially inaugurated on August 15.

Vietnam is rated one of the 10 emerging markets in the global data centre market, with impressive growth, international standard service delivery capacity, and a large number of organisations and enterprises, research firm ResearchAndMarkets has said.

The national population data centre and the system for making, granting, and managing citizen identity cards made debut on June 22, and they will officially come into operation on July 1.

Vietnam’s cloud computing market has so far been worth nearly VND3.2 trillion (US$133 million), heard a workshop in Hanoi on November 24.
