VOV.VN - The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has announced its plan to organise the Nguyen Hue Flower Street in eight days in celebration of the Year of the Horse 2026, one of the city's key cultural and tourism events during the Lunar New Year Festival (Tet).
The 2026 Tet Flower Street will stretch along Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, from the Nguyen Hue–Le Loi intersection to the Nguyen Hue–Ton Duc Thang intersection. It will open from 7:00 PM on February 15, two days before the Lunar New Year, until 9:00 PM on February 22, the sixth day of the New Lunar Year. Construction is scheduled to begin at 7:00 AM on January 28 and conclude by noon on February 15.
Marking its 23rd edition since 2004, Nguyen Hue Flower Street 2026 will feature horse-themed mascots in celebration of the Lunar Year of the Horse. Visitors can enjoy a spectacular display of thousands of flower baskets in various varieties, adding vibrant colours to the festive atmosphere.
In addition to thematic miniatures, the street will host Tet cultural exhibition areas, drawing the participation of diplomatic agencies, international organisations, and businesses. Nearly 50 booths will also be set up to showcase food, handicraft and tourism products.
Besides, hotels in the downtown such as Oscar, Palace, Kim Do, Caravelle, Sheraton, Grand, Rex, Majestic will organise art programmes and culinary spaces to entertain tourists.
The city will install 6-10 LED screens at many locations along Nguyen Hue Street and neighbouring areas to display images of the flower streets in previous years, and spread the Tet festive atmosphere to locals and tourists.
