The Noi Bai international airport in Hanoi is expected to serve 450 flights and up to 80,000 passengers on the peak day during the travel season for the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday (Tet) – Vietnam’s biggest and longest traditional festival.

The total number of air passengers passing through domestic airports will reach 80% of the peak in 2019, said Dinh Viet Thang, director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).

VOV.VN - Passengers, including children, wishing to fly on domestic routes are no longer required to undergo a COVID-19 test at the airport even when they have not received a single vaccine dose.

Air passengers from Omicron-hit countries and territories will continue to undergo rapid COVID-19 testing when entering Vietnam, and they will pay the fee via ticket prices or directly to test organisers at international airports.
