VOV.VN - Vietnam is stepping up efforts to develop nuclear power as part of its strategy to strengthen energy security and meet long-term climate goals, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said on January 7.

VOV.VN - Authorities in Khanh Hoa province are intensifying efforts to resolve land clearance and resettlement challenges to expedite the Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Plant project, a key national strategic initiative for Vietnam’s energy security.

The Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety, in collaboration with relevant industries and agencies, have worked with an Integrated Nuclear Infrastructure Review Mission from the International Atomic Energy Agency to conduct a comprehensive assessment of Vietnam’s national nuclear power infrastructure.

Rosatom Energy International JSC (REIN JSC), a subsidiary of Russia’s state-owned Rosatom, and Vietnam’s Power Engineering Consulting JSC 2 (PECC2) on September 26 signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), paving the way for cooperation in building Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant in Vietnam.

A visiting delegation from the Ministry of Construction led by Deputy Minister Pham Minh Ha held a meeting with the French Authority for Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection (ASNR) on September 15.

The south-central province of Khanh Hoa is focused on developing nuclear energy, a green and sustainable baseload power source that is increasingly being adopted worldwide, and Vietnam is no exception.

Nuclear energy development must be defined as a long-term strategic goal with vital importance in socio-economic development and ensuring national defence and security, Party General Secretary To Lam said at a working session with the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM) under the Ministry of Science and Technology in Hanoi on September 4.

VOV.VN - The politburo has recently released a resolution on ensuring national energy security through 2030 with a vision to 2045 that emphasises the urgent resumption of the Ninh Thuan 1 and Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear power projects to be commissioned during the 2030–2035 period.
