Vietnamese runners dominated the Vietnam Mountain Marathon (VMM) 2025 in Sa Pa ward, Lao Cai province, which took place from September 19-21 with the participation of trail runners from 47 countries and territories.

The 12th Vietnam Mountain Marathon (VMM), set for September 20, will see nearly 2,000 runners from 47 countries ready to tackle the grueling 50km and 100km ultra-marathons, both part of the prestigious World Trail Majors circuit, organisers announced.

Nearly 4,300 Vietnamese and foreign runners will race up to 70km on trails through orchards and tea fields in the Vietnam Trail Marathon (VTM) in Moc Chau district in the northern mountain province of Son La on April 24 after a suspension triggered by COVID-19.

Tran Duy Quang and Nguyen Thi Duong triumphed in the 100km race of the Vietnam Mountain Marathon 2020 which concluded in Sa Pa township in northern Lao Cai province.
