VOV.VN - As historic floods devastate Vietnam’s central provinces, an extraordinary outpouring of solidarity has swept across the nation, with communities from north to south mobilising day and night to support those in need.

The central city of Hue has so far received over VND329 billion (over US$12.5 million) from the central budget, the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF)'s agencies, and other localities to support flood recovery efforts, according to the municipal Civil Defence Command.

Party General Secretary To Lam urged the central city of Hue to expedite post-flood recovery efforts, aiming to swiftly return students to school and restore normalcy for residents, during a working trip on November 2.

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan on August 9 examined the fixing of flood consequences in the northern mountainous province of Son La and visited people affected by natural disasters in Muong Chanh commune of Mai Son district and Ban Lam commune of Thuan Chau district.

A project named “Humanitarian Aid and Post-Flood Recovery in Central Vietnam”, funded by the Dutch Relief Alliance under the Foreign Ministry of the Netherlands, was launched in the central province of Quang Nam on December 29.
