As the third largest country by population in ASEAN with an annual high economic growth, Vietnam is aware of food hygiene and safety and its demand for Japanese safe and healthy food is on the rise.
Having grasped the demand, JETRO will hold an event called “Business Matching of Japanese Agriculture, Fisheries and Food” in Ho Chi Minh City on July 31 and in Hanoi on August 2 as part of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan’s strategy to expand exports.
Earlier in 2017, a similar event attracted the participation of 300 Vietnamese business buyers. Products on show, including powdered milk, functional food, and seafood besides fish were much sought after by Vietnamese businesses.
This year’s events will draw 34 Japanese businesses who will introduce four groups of food: food for children, functional food, fresh and processed seafood and wine.
