Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai emphasised the Expo has played an important role in promoting regional trade and investment cooperation.
China has become Vietnam’s largest trade partner over the past 11 years while Vietnam is now the second largest trade partner of China in the ASEAN bloc.
Vietnam has supported all-round cooperation with China as well as Yunnan and facilitated China’s long-term investment, said Hai.
The Deputy PM stressed the need to strengthen connectivity, promote trade and investment in the region. This year, the China-South Asia Expo attracted more than 3,000 enterprises from 31 South Asian and ASEAN countries.
