It is estimated that more than 43,000 flights will be made available for summer travelers from May 15 to August 15, up 14% from the same period last year.

Vietnam Airlines plans to operate around 33,000 domestic flights during the summer. The carrier will add 1.4 million seats to raise the total number to 6.3 million seats, rising by 28% compared to normal days.

Flights connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with popular tourist destinations such as Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Da Lat, Hue, Quy Nhon, and Thanh Hoa are expected to attract a large number of air passengers.

In terms of the international market, the peak summer travel season this year will also witness Vietnam Airlines open a number of new air routes, including the Ho Chi Minh City-Busan and Nha Trang-Busan routes in June and Hanoi-Milan, and Da Nang-Osaka routes in July.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has asked carriers to enhance service quality and ensure flight safety in an effort to meet the increasing travel demand of passengers this summer. As scheduled, 68,558 domestic flights will be operated as part of this occasion, an annual increase of 18%.
