Hanoi welcomes a MICE tourism group of 1,000 people from China

VOV.VN - Victoria Tour has recently served a MICE tourism delegation of nearly 1,000 people from China who came to Hanoi to seek investment and business cooperation opportunities.

This large-scale event was held at the Vietnam Exposition Centre in Dong Anh commune, Hanoi, which is currently Vietnam's leading exhibition venue.

After the first 8 months of 2025, China continues to be Vietnam's largest source market with over 3.53 million arrivals. This figure is nearly equal to the number of Chinese visitors to Vietnam for the entire year of 2024 (3.73 million arrivals).

The significant recovery of the Chinese market has helped total international arrivals to Vietnam reach nearly 14 million after 8 months, representing an increase of 21.7% year on year, at the same time, opening up opportunities for Vietnamese travel agents and MICE operators specialising in Chinese market.

Hanoi, an emerging MICE tourism destination

In Hanoi, Victoria Tour, one of Vietnam’s leading Destination Management Companies (DMC), recently hosted a MICE delegation of nearly 1,000 Chinese visitors. The event was held at the Vietnam Exposition Centre in Dong Anh, Hanoi, a state-of-the-art, large-scale exhibition complex regarded as the most advanced of its kind in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

The MICE delegation comprised multi-industry businesses and suppliers from various Chinese cities such as Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Beijing, and Nanning.

At the Vietnam Exposition Centre, the delegation participated in conferences, discussions, seminars, and signed cooperation agreements.

Xia Wen Chuang, director of Victoria Tour's branch office in Hunan (China), noted that during their visit and exploration in Hanoi, many Chinese guests observed the city - and Vietnam as a whole - is developing at a remarkable pace, creating abundant opportunities for investment.

“They are very interested in investment and tourism opportunities in Vietnam. In recent years, particularly since the Covid-19 pandemic, Victoria Tour has welcomed numerous MICE delegations to Vietnam to explore investment prospects and seek partnerships with local enterprises. According to them, Vietnam’s economic policies are highly favourable for foreign investors, with procedures becoming increasingly streamlined - a key factor drawing Chinese investors to the country,” said Xia.

“Victoria Tour serves as a vital bridge in welcoming MICE guests to Vietnam, helping them overcome language and cultural barriers while facilitating connections with Vietnamese businesses. Our support extends beyond tourism services to commercial activities such as factory visits and industrial zone surveys,” he emphasised.

Victoria Tour’s successful hosting of the 1,000-member MICE delegation from China in Hanoi marks not only a major milestone for the company but also underscores the capital’s capability to organise large-scale international events, highlighting the vast potential of MICE tourism in Vietnam.

A leader from Victoria Tour’s Hanoi headquarters noted that Vietnam holds many advantages in attracting Chinese tourists, particularly in terms of security, safety, and geographical as well as cultural proximity. With these strengths, Vietnam is well-positioned to seize the opportunity to become a premier destination for international travelers, including MICE groups.

“The number of Chinese visitors to Vietnam has risen sharply thanks to the recent surge in direct flights between the two countries, coupled with the growing presence of Chinese businesses investing in Vietnam. Increasingly, Chinese travelers are seeking high-end, private travel experiences — a demand that many destinations across Vietnam are well-positioned to meet,” he said.

“Vietnam is well-prepared for MICE tourism, not only with the infrastructure to host large-scale international events but also with a wide range of offerings such as accommodation, dining, entertainment, and more. The country’s tourism industry also provides attractive promotions, innovative products, and more competitive prices compared to regional rivals,” said the company’s leader.

China remains a key source market for Vietnam as the Southeast Asian country aims to welcome 25 million international arrivals in 2025.

According to China Trading Desk, Chinese travelers made 66 million overseas trips in the first half of this year, an 11% increase year on year. The figure is projected to reach 155 million trips in 2025. With its immense size and potential across independent travel, group travel, and MICE tourism, the Chinese market still offers significant untapped opportunities for Vietnam.
