Da Nang plans tea tour at Son Tra Peak after Bill Gates visit
VOV.VN - The central coastal city of Da Nang is preparing to launch a pilot tea-tourism experience at Ban Co Peak on the Son Tra Peninsula following a surge in visitor interest after billionaire Bill Gates visited the site in early 2024.
The management board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches on May 19 announced that it is inviting businesses, organisations and individuals to participate in a pilot tea experience programme at Ban Co Peak.
The initiative is part of efforts to diversify Da Nang’s eco-tourism offerings and create new nature-based experiences for visitors to the peninsula.
The programme is expected to contribute to the development of high-end tourism services tied to nature and leisure travel, according to local authorities.
The tea experience is designed to provide visitors with a quiet and relaxing setting amid the mountain scenery, targeting travelers seeking rest and panoramic views.
Tourism, cultural and culinary businesses are being encouraged to develop concepts in line with the city’s sustainable tourism strategy. Registration for participation will remain open through May 30.
The idea for the tea tour was inspired by the widespread attention generated by Bill Gates’ trip to Da Nang in March 2024. During his stay, the billionaire visited the Son Tra Peninsula and enjoyed tea at Ban Co Peak.
The tea sessions are set to be offered during sunrise and sunset hours, though schedules may change depending on weather conditions. The tea area will be located near the statue of the fairy playing chess, one of the best-known check-in spots at Ban Co Peak.
Situated nearly 700 meters above sea level and about 10 kilometers from downtown Da Nang, Ban Co Peak is a popular destination known for its sweeping views of the city, coastline and the Son Tra Peninsula.
