At the fair, Da Nang booth provided visitors with comprehensive information regarding the central city’s tourism activities and arranged nearly 200 appointments with potential buyers in the field of MICE, golf, wedding, and high-end resort tourism from international markets in Europe, America, Australia, Singapore, India, and Southeast Asia.
Tan Van Vuong, deputy director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism, highlighted huge potential for developing MICE tourism, adding that the local tourism industry has actively expanded into new markets and is seeking additional sources of customers.
Last year witnessed Da Nang organise two programmes aimed at introducing tourism and investment activities in the Australian cities of Melbourne and Sydney.
Through its participation in AIME 2025, the city is expected to continue strengthening connectivity with potential businesses that specialise in exploiting high-spending customers in the Australian market and the Asia-Pacific region, thereby launching direct flights from Da Nang to Australian cities moving forward, Vuong stated.
According to details given by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, in 2024, more than 12 million Australians traveled abroad last year, representing an increase of over 15% compared to 2023.
Australian tourists often have lengthy stays of between five to seven days, prioritize high-end resorts and high spending, with a specific focus on the beach resort segment, golf experiences, and cultural tours.
Vuong emphasised that Australian tourists are listed among the top ten key international tourism markets of Da Nang. In addition, the Australian MICE tourism website, MICENET, has recently voted Da Nang as an emerging destination for MICE tourism in the region.
