VOV.VN - As many as 800 American tourists aboard cruise ship Crystal Symphony arrived at Tien Sa Port, Da Nang city, on January 29, becoming the first international visitors to the city in the Year of the Snake 2025.
The Crystal Symphony departed from Singapore on January 18 and made stops in Thailand and Cambodia before arriving in Da Nang on Vietnam's Lunar New Year’s Day.
The visitors were greeted at the port with a vibrant lion dance performance, presented with flowers and souvenirs, and given guided tours of Da Nang’s famous attractions.
During their stay, the tourists explored Linh Ung pagoda, the Cham Sculpture museum, and My Khe beach, as well as experiencing the city’s charm via traditional cyclo rides.
Steven, an American tourist visiting Da Nang for the third time, expressed his excitement about experiencing Vietnam’s traditional Lunar New Year festival (Tet).
"I am very happy to be here during your traditional New Year. This year is the Year of the Snake, which is a very lucky and prosperous symbol. I have visited Da Nang and the former imperial city of Hue before, and I really enjoy walking along the Han River. Da Nang is a beautiful and relaxing city," said Steven.
In 2024, more than 41,000 international tourists arrived in Da Nang via cruise ships through Tien Sa Port, an increase of 122% compared to 2023.
