UN Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix has appreciated Vietnam’s sustained support for UN peacekeeping operations and its commitment to strengthening the role of women, particularly female police officers, in such missions.

National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh held a meeting in Hanoi on March 4 with Caroline Nyamayemombe, UN Women Representative in Vietnam, and Michaela Bauer, UNICEF Deputy Representative in Vietnam, to strengthen cooperation on gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Seventeen Vietnamese entrepreneurs and companies was honoured with the UN Women WEPs Awards 2024 on November 28 for their innovative initiatives and significant contributions to advancing gender equality in business, in the market, and within the community, contributing to prosperity and sustainable development in Vietnam.

Vietnam showcased its unwavering humanitarian commitment as the country attended the annual UN international bazaar held by the UN Women’s Guild (UNWG) in Geneva on November 19.

More than 30 journalists, reporters, and media workers from 20 central and local press and media agencies attended training on gender equality and violence against women and girls in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on October 28 - 29.
