VOV.VN - The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) has played a vital role in recent times to promote political and security progress in South Sudan, according to Vietnamese Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, permanent representative of Vietnam to the UN.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has signed a decision issuing a plan to implement Resolution 130/2020/QH14 of the National Assembly on joining the UN peacekeeping operations.

Vietnam will continue to seek measures to enhance the efficiency of and expand the areas of engagement in UN peacekeeping operations, heard a conference held by the Ministry of National Defence in Hanoi on January 7 to review Vietnam’s involvement in the operations in the 2012-2020 period.

VOV.VN - Staff working at Vietnam's Level-2 field Hospital No. 3 are currently attending a training course to prepare for their participation in the UN’s peacekeeping mission in South Sudan.

Staff members of the Level-2 Field Hospital No.3 began the last training phase on December 23 in Ho Chi Minh City before leaving for South Sudan to join the international peacekeeping force there.
