VOV.VN - After days of rigorous training and with high determination, helicopters and fighter jets of the Vietnam People's Air Force opened the military parade in Ho Chi Minh City on the morning of April 30, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and National Reunification.

The historic victory of the Vietnamese people on April 30, 1975 was the result of solidarity, courage, and revolutionary heroism under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), most notably President Ho Chi Minh.

Ambassador David Fernández Puyana, Permanent Observer of the Permanent Delegation of the University for Peace to the United Nations Office and other international organisations in Geneva, has praised Vietnam’s peace building efforts as well as the country’s socio-economic development.

Vietnam has undergone tremendous changes since its national reunification in 1975, rising to become a country with a remarkable international position and economic potential, said Russian international political analyst Grigory Trofimchuk.

Vietnam has dispatched a military delegation to participate in the Victory Day parade marking the 80th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War triumph at the invitation of Russia’s Ministry of Defence.
