Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang on March 27 stressed the Vietnamese Government’s determination to speed up the disbursement of official development assistance (ODA) and concessional loans.

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the Vietnam - Saudi Arabia Business Forum on October 19, with the event being organised by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Vietnamese Embassy in Saudi Arabia, and the Federation for Saudi Chambers of Commerce.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai has signed a decision approving the public debt strategy until 2030, which sets a target of keeping it at under 60% of the GDP and Government debts not exceeding 50% of the GDP by 2030.

The Prime Minister has assigned the Ministry of Planning and Investment to draft strategies and policies on development cooperation with foreign donors in order to improve the efficiency of using official development assistance (ODA) and concessional loans.

About VND527.1 trillion (over US$22.9 billion) in foreign official development assistance (ODA) and concessional loans will be allocated during the 2011 - 2025 period.

The disbursed amount of public investment funded by official development assistance (ODA) in localities in the first five months of this year stood at only over VND1.1 trillion (US$47.9 million), equivalent to just 1.73% of the year’s target, according to the Ministry of Finance (MoF).
