Anker recalls over 30,000 backup batteries in Vietnam
VOV.VN - The National Competition Commission under the Ministry of Industry and Trade is currently overseeing the recall of more than 30,000 Anker-brand power banks on the Vietnamese market.

According to the Commission, Anker Innovations Limited has reported a recall involving several product models, specifically A1681, A1689, A1257, and A1647, sold through retail stores and e-commerce platforms such as Lazada, Shopee, and TikTok.
A total of 30,927 units are affected in Vietnam. Anker said the recall stems from a welding defect on the negative electrode of the battery cell. Further analysis also found excessive iron impurities in the positive electrode, potentially compromising the product’s reliability and safety.
Although no injuries have been reported in Vietnam, the company has proactively launched the recall to ensure consumer safety and protection.
Affected products will be exchanged free of charge or replaced with gift vouchers. All associated costs will be covered by Anker.
The recall programme began on June 27 and will continue until completed. Consumers can check the product code printed on the bottom of the battery and compare it with the list published on Anker’s official website (https://www.anker.com/vn).
Those with affected products are advised to submit their contact information for instructions on returning the item. For assistance, consumers can call +864000550036 or email support@anker.com.
