VOV.VN - Vietnam’s internet speed has entered the world’s top 40 for the first time, according to a report conducted by Ookla Speedtest.

VOV.VN - The Vietnam Internet Centre (VNNIC) on January 24 announced that the number of registrations of national domain name “.vn” has increased by 185,000 to more than 630,500, ranking second in Southeast Asia.

Despite the full restoration of the Asia-Africa-Europe-1 (AAE-1) undersea cable, two other international undersea cables are still facing issues, which are affecting Vietnam’s internet connection speed and service quality to international destinations.

Vietnam is aiming to improve and develop its Internet infrastructure to align with the advancement of new technologies, while ensuring safety and sustainability, in order to meet the growing demand for Internet usage.

Vietnam is on the brink of a digital revolution, with projections indicating that the country will record 100 million Internet subscribers by 2029.
