Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on October 28 issued a Joint Statement on the upgrade of their relations to a Comprehensive Partnership on the occasion of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s official visit to the Middle East country.

The visit to Canada by a Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) delegation from September 27 to October 2 has reaffirmed the importance of parliamentary cooperation in contributing to further promoting the Comprehensive Partnership between the two countries.

To further advance collaboration projects marking 30 years of Canada's development support for Vietnam, the Vietnamese Trade Office in Canada recently held a working session with Minister of International Development Ahmed Hussen.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet, head of SOM ASEAN Vietnam, attended the Senior Officials' Meetings of ASEAN+3, the East Asia Summit (EAS), and the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) in Vientiane, Laos, on June 7-8.
