Brazilian President to pay state visit to Vietnam in late March
VOV.VN - Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will make a state visit to Vietnam from March 27 – 29, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).

The invitation has been extended by Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, the MoFA said in a press communique released on March 23.
This is Lula’s second visit to Vietnam as President of Brazil, following his first visit in 2008 during his initial term.
Vietnam and Brazil established diplomatic relations in 1989 and a comprehensive partnership in 2007. In November 2024, after a meeting between President Lula da Silva and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, the two leaders agreed to upgrade Vietnam-Brazil relations to a Strategic Partnership.
Two-way trade between the two countries reached US$7.7 billion in 2024. Vietnam mainly exports seafood, rubber, textiles, footwear, and steel to Brazil, and in return, it imports large quantities of soybeans, corn, animal feed, and various types of cotton from Brazil.
