VOV.VN - About 30 traffic accidents were recorded across Vietnam on February 20, the fourth day of the Lunar New Year, leaving 17 people dead and 27 injured, according to the Traffic Police Department.

VOV.VN - Hanoi is set to bring into operation a network of 1,837 AI-enabled cameras and smart traffic signals to strengthen monitoring and traffic management. While most road users comply with regulations, violations remain visible, including running red lights, lane encroachment, riding without helmets, mounting pavements, and illegal stopping or parking.

Hanoi has officially installed over 600 surveillance camera clusters on its roads to control traffic violations round the clock, according to the municipal Division of Traffic Police.

A notable reduction has been recorded in the number of violations handled over the past month compared to the previous period, reflecting an increased sense of responsibility among road users.

Fines for cars which don't stop at red lights will increase sharply to VND20 million (US$780) starting on January 1, up from the previous VND6 million (US$230), under the new Decree No. 168/2024/ND-CP issued by the Prime Minister.
