Major automakers including Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, Ford and Mercedes-Benz have confirmed that most modern vehicles currently operating in Vietnam are compatible with E10 biofuel, easing concerns ahead of the fuel’s nationwide rollout from June 1.

The Petrovietnam Refining and Petrochemical Corporation (BSR), a member of the Vietnam National Industry – Energy Group (Petrovietnam), will produce and distribute between 80,000 and 100,000 cubic metres of E10RON95 biofuel petrol per month to meet growing market demand for E10 fuel during May 2026 and months to come.

E10 biofuel will officially be distributed nationwide from June 1 under the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s roadmap on energy transition and environmentally friendly fuel use.

Ahead of schedule, several major fuel distributors have begun rolling out E10 biofuel across their retail networks and are preparing to supply the market beyond their own systems.

Petrovietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL), a subsidiary of Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group, has completed all necessary technical infrastructure, supply arrangements, and workforce preparation to officially distribute E10RON95 biofuel gasoline across its entire nationwide system starting May 15.

A mandatory sale of E10 biofuel is rolled out nationwide today, April 30, 2026, a month earlier than the originally scheduled deadline, amid global energy uncertainties.

The Dung Quat Biofuel Plant is accelerating production and is expected to reach full capacity by mid-April, supplying ethanol for nationwide E10RON95 biofuel blending.

VOV.VN - Vietnam’s petroleum enterprises are fully capable of meeting nationwide demand for E10 biofuel, with a total blending capacity of around 965,000 cubic meters per month, according to the Vietnam Petroleum Association (VINPA).

The Ministry of Industry and Trade convened a conference on March 26 to hammer out the details of the Prime Minister’s directive accelerating the switch to E10 RON95 biofuel, with the goal of reviving idle ethanol plants and ramping up domestic output to support the nationwide phase-out of mineral gasoline.

Holding nearly 70% of Vietnam’s fuel market, the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) and the Petrovietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL), have proactively taken measures to enable the sale of E10 RON95 biofuel nationwide ahead of schedule, easing pressure on gasoline imports, strengthening national energy security.
