Vinh Phuc wants to enhance trade and investment cooperation with Hekou county of China’s Yunnan province.

VOV.VN - A refrigerated truck carrying 2,700 fresh Vietnamese coconuts successfully cleared customs and entered China through the Hekou border gate of China’s Yunnan province, adjacent to Vietnam’s Lao Cai border gate, on October 15.

Trade officials from Vietnam’s northern border province of Lao Cai and Honghe county of the neighbouring Chinese province of Yunnan visited the Mekong Delta province of Long An on April 23, seeking to form partnerships with local agricultural production, processing, and exporting companies.

The Vietnam-China trade exchange programme opened in Can Tho city on April 21, with 150 Mekong Delta and 13 Chinese firms taking part.

China has suspended the import of Vietnamese goods via its Hekou border gate that pairs with Lao Cai of Vietnam due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Chinese authorities on January 12 re-opened their Hekou International Border Gate – which pairs with Vietnam's Kim Thanh II border gate in the northern province of Lao Cai – for imported fresh fruits, including dragon fruit, and frozen foods from Vietnam.

The Vietnam Railway Project Management Board under the Ministry of Transport has submitted to the ministry a project with total investment of over VND2.2 trillion (US$95.88 million) to improve railway connections between Vietnam's Lao Cai Station and China's North Hekou Station.
