The northern province of Quang Ninh has embarked on a bold endeavor, approving a four-month tourism campaign proposed by Ha Long Sun Ltd. Co., a subsidiary of the Sun Group, to rekindle the charm of Ha Long Bay in the final months of 2025.
In the wake of recent incidents, the tourism-driven province of Quang Ninh is implementing a wide range of coordinated measures, from ramped-up patrols and technological upgrades to refined operational protocols of tourist boats on Ha Long Bay, aimed at restoring and strengthening visitors' trust.
Quang Ninh province is working with the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology’s Institute of Earth Sciences (IES) to study the installation of an early warning system for thunderstorms, heavy rains, and dangerous sea waves in Ha Long and Bai Tu Long Bays following the tragic Vinh Xanh 58 tourist boat capsizing.
