New cruise link connects heritage tourism space between Ha Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay
VOV.VN - A cruise route connecting Ha Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay was put into operation on April 20, opening up a unique journey across heritage areas and marking a new step in linking heritage tourism space between Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong city in northern Vietnam.
On the first day of operation, two tourist vessels operated by Bhaya Cruises Company and Asia Premium Cruise Group JSC served visitors on the route. Each vessel carried around 40 passengers, mostly from Taiwan (China), the Republic of Korea, the United States and India.
Specifically, Au Co 1, operated by Bhaya Cruises, runs the Ha Long Bay 3- Lan Ha Bay itinerary, while Ambassador Signature, operated by Asia Premium Cruise Group JSC, runs the Ha Long Bay 6-Lan Ha Bay itinerary.
Under coordination regulations between Quang Ninh and Hai Phong, tourist vessels are licensed to operate on four connecting itineraries: Ha Long Bay 3, 4, 5 and 6- Lan Ha Bay.
All itineraries are overnight cruises, with no day tours, allowing visitors more time to fully experience and explore the beauty of the two bays.
The two operators will maintain daily fixed services on the route, contributing to the development of a stable, long-term inter-regional tourism product.
Relevant agencies in both localities have facilitated vessel operations while strengthening management, ensuring security and order, handling violations and maintaining a healthy business environment. Inland waterway port authorities responsible for licensing, regulating and coordinating operations between the two bays in a strict, smooth and safe manner.
The launch of the interconnected waterway route adds a new tourism product and realises cooperation commitments between Quang Ninh and Hai Phong in preserving and promoting the value of the Ha Long Bay- Cat Ba Archipelago World Natural Heritage site recognised by UNESCO. It is seen as a strategic move to enhance regional connectivity and ease localised pressure on each area, marking a new phase in linking heritage tourism space between the two localities.
