Vietnam women cruise into Asian Beach Games beach handball final
VOV.VN - Vietnam’s women’s beach handball team advanced to the final of the 6th Asian Beach Games (ABG6) after a convincing semi-final win in Sanya, China, on April 28.
The Vietnamese side maintained their dominant form, defeating Turkmenistan 2-0 to secure a place in the title match.
Vietnam had earlier topped Group A with three straight victories, all by identical 2-0 scorelines, against Thailand, Hong Kong (China) and the Philippines.
Entering the semi-finals as group winners, they faced Turkmenistan, Group B runners-up, who had recorded two wins and one loss in the group stage.
The match saw a closely contested opening set, with both teams level at 10-10 and 12-12. Vietnam then pulled ahead to lead 16-12 and 18-14 before sealing the set 22-18.
In the second set, Turkmenistan offered early resistance, but Vietnam quickly took control, opening up a commanding lead of 10-4 and 16-9. The gap continued to widen as Vietnam cruised to a 30-17 win, completing a straight-sets victory.
The result sends Vietnam into the final, where they will face hosts China, who defeated Thailand 2-1 in the other semi-final.
