VOV.VN - Vietnam on August 10 secured a convincing 3-0 victory against Kyrgyzstan, earning direct qualification to the 2026 AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup final tournament, which will be held in Thailand next April.

Hosting Group B at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre (VYF), coach Masahiko Okiyama’s team approached the final qualifying match with the aim not only to secure their spot in the tournament but also to demonstrate their superiority. Having already beaten Singapore and Hong Kong (China), Vietnam only needed a draw to advance, yet they began the match with an aggressive mindset, intent on claiming all three points.

In the second half, though the pace slowed, Vietnam continued creating chances, and in the 74th minute, Khanh Vy completed her hat-trick with a precise header from a corner kick.
The 3-0 victory, combined with a perfect record of three straight wins in the qualifiers, scoring 14 goals and conceding none, placed Vietnam atop Group B with 9 points. This marks the second consecutive time the Vietnamese youth team have qualified for the AFC U20 women’s Asian Cup.
In other groups, teams such as the Republic of Korea and Japan lead their groups with impressive goal tallies of 36 and 32 goals respectively. This indicates that Vietnam’s U20 women’s team will need to further improve their attacking prowess for the upcoming finals.
