Second straight win for Vietnam at AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers
VOV.VN - Vietnam earned a dominant 6-0 victory over Hong Kong (China) in their second Group B match of the 2026 AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers on August 8.

A comfortable 5-0 win over Singapore in the opening match two days ago gave the Vietnamese team a relaxed mindset heading into their second game against Hong Kong.
Vietnamese players once again displayed their superiority, controlling the game from start to finish and securing their second consecutive win of the tournament.
The breakthrough came in the 16th minute when Nguyen Thi Hoai Trinh seized on a loose ball just outside the penalty area and chipped it over the advancing goalkeeper to open the scoring.
In the 35th minute, Hoai Trinh showcased her sharp instincts again. After intercepting a misplaced pass from an opponent, she sprinted down the right wing and fired a powerful shot into the near post to double Vietnam's lead.
Just before halftime, Vietnam added a third goal. Hoai Trinh again delivered a clever assist to Ngan Thi Thanh Hieu, who finished clinically to extend the lead to 3-0.
In the 65th minute, from a right-sided free kick, Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh curled a left-footed shot that bounced off the post and into the net, leaving the Hong Kong goalkeeper rooted to the spot. Vietnam led 4-0.
Two minutes later, Luu Hoang Van capitalised on a defensive error by Hong Kong to make it 5-0. In the 90th minute, Thu Trang added the sixth and final goal, sealing an emphatic 6-0 victory.
In the other Group B match earlier the same day, Kyrgyzstan defeated Singapore 1-0.
After two rounds, Vietnam lead Group B with 6 points and a goal difference of +11. Hong Kong come second with 3 points and a -5 goal difference, while Kyrgyzstan also have 3 points but sit in third due to their 1-2 loss to Hong Kong in the opening match.
