VOV.VN - Cueist Ko Ping Chung of Taiwan (China) claimed the 2025 Predator WPA Men’s 10-Ball World Championship title after defeating Greece’s Alex Kazakis 3-1 in a thrilling final on the evening of September 28 in Ho Chi Minh City.

The much-anticipated final lasted 2 hours and 29 minutes, played over four sets. Ko dominated the first two sets with precise and decisive shots, winning 4-0 and 4-2. Kazakis fought back in the third set with a 4-1 victory and briefly took the lead in the fourth set, 3-2. However, Ko held his nerve to clinch the fourth set 4-3, sealing a 3-1 overall victory.
With this triumph, Ko earned a US$70,000 prize and became only the second player in history to win two Men’s 10-Ball World Championship titles (2019 & 2025), joining Eklent Kaci (2021 & 2023).
Kazakis received US$40,000 for his runner-up finish. Semi-finalists Shane Van Boening (USA) and Carlo Biado (Philippines) each earned US$17,500 for third place.
The 2025 Men’s 10-Ball World Championship, held for the first time in Vietnam at the Military Zone 7 Sports Hall from September 17–28, gathered 96 of the world’s top cueists, including reigning champion Carlo Biado, Fedor Gorst, Joshua Filler, Shane Van Boening, Eklent Kaci, Ko Pin Yi, and Ko Ping Chung.
This historic event marked Vietnam as the third country to host the Men’s 10-Ball World Championship, after billiards powerhouses the Philippines and the United States. Vietnam had two players in the tournament, Duong Quoc Hoang and Pham Phuong Nam, although neither advanced to the later stages of the competition.
