Organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation (HBSF), this year’s edition boasts upgraded facilities with a professional competition area, advanced technology, and high-definition electronic screens. All matches will be broadcast live, offering an immersive experience for fans.

The Ho Chi Minh City World Cup is an annual event organized by the Union Mondiale de Billard (UMB), rotating among continents. Since its first edition in 2015, despite cancellations in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19, Ho Chi Minh City has remained a familiar venue for elite players. Vietnam has claimed the title twice, in 2018 and 2024.

The opening day on May 19 saw 18 Vietnamese cueists compete in the preliminary rounds. Many exciting matches feature domestic and international players, including a notable contest between veteran Ly The Vinh and a female player from Greece, as well as other compelling matches across different groups.

Young talent Nguyen Hoai Phong, born in 2003 from An Giang province, makes his World Cup debut, facing tough challenges in his group.

The preliminaries include 48 players divided into 16 groups, playing round-robin matches to 30 points. The top player from each group will advance, promising intense and thrilling competition.

The 2025 Ho Chi Minh City World Cup Billiards Carom 3-Cushion is not only a sports event but also a valuable opportunity for international players to connect, show their skills, and elevate Vietnam’s standing in the global billiards community.
