International Kitesurfing Festival slated for January 2026 in Khanh Hoa
VOV.VN - The south-central province of Khanh Hoa is scheduled to play host to the International Kitesurfing Festival 2025 at My Hoa beach from January 15–17, 2026, according to a local official.
Around 200 domestic and international athletes have registered to take part in the competition – a key event to promote the province’s tourism brand and stimulate the local economy, said Nguyen Long Bien, Vice Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee.
To ensure the event is held safely and professionally, the official instructed the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to finalise a detailed operational plan, brand identity, and artistic programmes. The department was also asked to consider appointing artists and beauty queens as ambassadors to enhance outreach and support tourism promotion campaigns highlighting Khanh Hoa’s natural beauty and people.
Alongside the competition, the province will focus on developing a supporting service ecosystem. The Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, in coordination with travel businesses, will launch new tour packages, while accommodation providers are encouraged to offer preferential room rates for athletes and visitors.
In parallel, local culinary spaces, along with OCOP (One Commune, One Product) booths and signature provincial products, will be formally organised by the Centre for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, ensuring quality standards and food safety.
My Hoa beach is widely regarded as a paradise for kitesurfing. It has previously been selected to host numerous domestic and international competitions, including the Kiteboard Tour Asia International Competition 2016, the Ninh Chu Kitesurfing Festival 2019, and the international kitesurfing week 2024, attracting hundreds of athletes from countries such as Russia, the Republic of Korea, Australia, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.
Each year, My Hoa Beach welcomes between 2,000 and 3,000 visitors who come to train, compete, and enjoy impressive kitesurfing performances by both Vietnamese and international athletes.
