Vietnamese human trafficker arrested in China after 14 years on the run
VOV.VN - Law enforcement authorities of Vietnam have collaborated with their Chinese counterparts to arrest an especially dangerous fugitive of Vietnam after 14 years of hiding in China.

According to the police, between January 1 and 16, 2011, Hoang Van Duy, born 1990, and his accomplices deceived three Vietnamese victims and trafficked them to China. After the crime was discovered, the victims’ families reported the incident to local authorities.
In May 2011, the Cao Bang Provincial Police’s Investigation Agency issued a warrant for his arrest on the charge of human trafficking.
After years of evasion, on June 4, 2025, the Criminal Police Department of Cao Bang province launched a special investigation into locating and apprehending the fugitive. The task force coordinated with Chinese police through the Border Liaison Office to verify his whereabouts.
On June 13, with the support of Chinese police and the Ly Van Border Guard Station in Ha Lang district, the task force successfully arrested Duy in the border area of Ly Quoc commune, Ha Lang district.
The Cao Bang Provincial Police’s Investigation Agency is currently finalising the case file for strict legal proceedings in accordance with the law.
