Tropical storm Bualoi forms, heading toward central Vietnam
VOV.VN - While super typhoon Ragasa is losing its strength, a tropical storm has formed in the waters of the Philippines and is likely to head toward central Vietnam.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, a tropical depression east of the Philippines intensified into a storm, named Bualoi internationally.
At 7 a.m. on September 24, Bualoi was churning through the eastern part of the Philippines, with maximum sustained winds near its centre reaching 75-88kmh. It was moving west-northwest at a speed of about 15kmh.
Bualoi is forecast to continue moving quickly toward the East Sea and may strengthen further in the coming days.
Meteorological agencies predicted that Bualoi would move into the East Sea by the night of September 26 and is likely to move toward central Vietnam, particularly from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai. This is a common path according to the seasonal climate pattern.
Although Bualoi may strengthen, meteorologists ruled out the possibility that it could become a super typhoon.
Meanwhile, super typhoon Ragasa has been continuously weakening. By the morning of September 24, its maximum sustained winds near the centre decreased to 167-183kmh, no longer maintaining super typhoon status. The storm’s centre is now about several hundreds of kilometres east of Mong Cai ward, Quang Ninh province, moving west-northwest at approximately 20kmh.
Ragasa is forecast to make landfall on September 25, dumping heavy rain on northern coastal provinces. Local authorities have been urged to remain on high alert and be fully prepared to respond immediately.
