Airlines adjust schedules as super typhoon Ragasa nears

VOV.VN - With super Typhoon Ragasa approaching the East Sea and winds gusting up to 270 kph, Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet have announced flight adjustments, including cancellations and reroutes to safeguard passengers.

Vietnam Airlines has rerouted flights between Vietnam and Northeast Asia and canceled all services between Ho Chi Minh City and Hong Kong on September 23. The carrier warned that other domestic and international flights may also be affected, with further adjustments depending on the storm’s developments.

Vietjet suspended four flights on the Da Nang-Macao and Ho Chi Minh City-Hong Kong routes the same day, while cautioning passengers to check schedules and weather updates before heading to airports.

The Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) convened an emergency meeting and activated storm response plans nationwide. The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has directed airlines to monitor the storm closely, adjust operations, and step up inspections of airport facilities to ensure safety.
