Repatriation flight by Vietnam Airlines brings home citizens from Thailand
VOV.VN - More than 230 Vietnamese citizens, including children under the age of 18, the elderly, people suffering from illnesses, pregnant women, and others in difficult circumstances were flown home on October 1 from Thailand onboard a repatriation flight conducted by national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines.
The fight was put on after co-operation by the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand along with competent agencies from both nations.
Ahead of the flight, the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand sent staff to the airport in an effort to assist the citizens with all necessary procedures prior to their departure.
Furthermore, Vietnam Airlines also implemented a string of strict security, safety, and epidemiological measures during the flight as a means of preventing the potential spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Immediately upon landing at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, all crew members and passengers underwent compulsory medical check-ups and were placed into quarantine in line with regulations regarding COVID-19 prevention and control.
Moving forward, relevant Vietnamese agencies are in the process of arranging similar repatriation flights for citizens overseas who wish to return to home, with future flights depending on the epidemic containment situation and local quarantine capacity.
